Bringing a Pet into Fiji
It is complicated and expensive to bring your pets into Fiji. You may find you get conflicting advice from various ministries. The rules change periodically and also depend on what country your animal is coming from. The total cost varies; however, some people have estimated that it cost them as much as USD3,000 to bring a pet into the country.
Each animal coming into Fiji has to go via New Zealand, Australia or USA (e.g. Hawaii) in order for Fiji to accept the animal. While in transit in one of these countries, your animal may have to follow the quarantine laws of that country. Sometimes, this quarantine period can be months, while permits are approved.
