February

Holi (Festivals of Colour), also called phagua locally, is celebated by Hindu Indo- Fijians, sometimes during February or March, by throwing coloured powder at one another.  

 

April

Fiji International Jazz Festival is a 3- day jazz festival showcasing musicials from around the world and is held in eithr April or May at Port Denarau.

 

May

Fiji Fashion Week is a much anticipated 3- day fashion event attracting international, Pacific and local designers.  Usually a Emerging Designer's Show, Established Designer's Show and Children's Show.  

 

June

Fiji Showcase is an annual fun and family event managed and organized by the Suva- based Total Event Company.  Showcase usually features live entertainment, foodstalls, trade booths and other activities at the Vodafone Arena, Lacaula Bay, Suva.

 

July

Ba Riverside Carnival started in 2012 will be held again this year July 8 - 11th at the Ba Market grounds.  Rides, traditional food and free entertainment.

 

Bula Festival held in Nadi with rides, food stalls, entertainment, marching bands and the crowning of 'Miss Bula'.  Starting 31 July - 7 August at Koroivulo Park and the Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

 

August

Hobie Challenge, 5 - 15 August in the Mamanuca groups of islands.

 

Suva Marathon Race, 8 August, hosted by the Suva Marathon Club.

 

Hibiscus Festival  22 - 29 August, Albert Park, Suva.  Floats, food stalls, fair rides and the crowning of 'Miss Hibiscus'.

 

South Indian Fire Walking, is usually held in August.  Hindu devotees at Suva's Mariamma Temple walk across red- hot stones.

 

Friendly North Festival, 23 - 31 August, held on Vanua Levu at Subrail Park, Labasa.  Fun family entertainment.

 

September

Annual Regatta with many avid yachties from around the world held at Musket Cove.  

 

Sugar Festival in Lautoka comes alive with fun fairs, parades and the crowning of the Sugar Queen.

 

October

Diwali (Festival of Lights)- houses are decorated and candles and lanterns set on doorsteps to light the way for Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity).  Held in late October or early to mid- November, with fireworks and decorations starting as early as a month in advance.

 

November

South Pacific World Music Festival- acclaimed Fijian and internation musicians treat Savusavu to a 5- day musicfest. Usually held in late November.
