Medical Facilities

Medical facilities in Suva are reasonable.  Suva Private Hospital is small, clean and pleasant, has GPs and a small array of specialists.  For more major medical issues, specialists and specialist equipment, you will be referred to CWM, the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.  It is large and run-down, with variable service and care.  In serious medical situations, you are likely to be medically evacuated.

Hospitals

  • MIOT (formerly Suva Private Hospital): Amy Street, Toorak, Ph: 330-3404. GPs and various specialists; open till 10p.m.

  • Colonial War Memorial Hospital: Waimanu Road, Ph: 331-3444.  Used in emergencies only.

  • Ambulances: Ph: 911 - Emergency vehicles are limited in supply, so where possible, it may be quicker to drive the patient to CWM or Suva Private Hospital.
